Suits season 7: Abigail Spencer returning as Scottie!
Spencer confirmed this glorious news in a new post on Twitter; she is going to be appearing at some point during the final six episodes of the show premiering in 2018, and it should prove very interesting to see how she fits back into the show and the story going on right now. Spencer last appeared on Suits during “God’s Green Earth” back in season 5 (when the Anita Gibbs investigation was spiraling out of control), and we know that Scottie, (otherwise known as Dana Scott) is often a great source of wisdom. Beyond that, she has a history with Harvey that should make things all the more interesting given where he is in his own life right now. After everything that he’s been through could Scottie become a source of advice now? It’d be interesting to say the least. Remember that Harvey is in a relationship with his therapist Dr. Paula Agard, while Donna kissed him in the closing minutes of the season 7 summer finale.
One of the reasons why we doubted that we would see Spencer back on Suits anytime soon is simply because of how busy she’s been as of late. She just wrapped an arc on Grey’s Anatomy as Owen’s sister Megan Hunt, and she will be in Vancouver next filming the second season of Timeless. She’s also been the star of another series in Rectify.She seems to make the most of her time more so than many other performer out there right now! (For those wondering, the second season of Timeless should be coming either in the spring or summer of 2018).
There’s no official return date for Suits season 7 as of yet, but when it does air be prepared for some new developments for Harvey and Donna plus the long-awaited backdoor pilot for the Gina Torres led political spin-off series (this is going to take place in the season 7 finale). While there is no official season 8 renewal as of yet, signs point towards it happening. There’s no immediate hurry for it, but we do imagine that we’re going to be getting some news about that over the next couple of months. It should be out there by the time we get to the season 7 finale unless something truly shocking happens.
