Shameless season 8 episode 2 preview: Frank gets a job

Shameless season 8 episode 2

Shameless season 8 episode 2 is going to be airing on Showtime in one week, and like with many episodes, Frank is at the center. This is a man who is claiming that he is restarting his life and, in the process of that, doing everything he can in order to show that he is changing. He’s taking an interest in his kids, and he’s working to become clean and sober.

Now, Shameless season 8 episode 2 is going to do something that William H. Macy first teased in a recent video promoting the season (which you can watch at the link here) — he is stepping up and doing what he can in order to join the workforce! It’s a new role for a guy who is not used to actually having any real responsibilities.

Below, the attached synopsis that CarterMatt has for you gives a little more of a sense as to what is coming up next:

Frank re-lives his 20s and joins the workforce for the first time! Meanwhile, Fiona grapples with evicting someone from her building; Lip works out a plan to sabotage Charlie’s chances with Sierra; Ian and Carl make a troubling discovery about Monica; and Kev says his goodbyes as he prepares to go under the knife.

It’s clear that there are a few different sources of great comedy coming up in this episode, with one of the biggest ones being how Frank copes with someone telling him what to do.

Meanwhile, the idea of Fiona having to evict someone should be funny, mostly because it’s a chance to throw her into a very different sort of element than she’s really used to. She’s been the sort of person (time and time again) who had to work under some pretty terrible bosses, but never really been the person to actually be the boss. This should be an adjustment, but it should also be a great way of evolving this character. All evidence points towards this being the season where Fiona actually gets her you-know-what together and makes some forward movement in life. Maybe there will be a backslide at some point, but we aren’t quite there yet.
