Westworld season 2: Longmire alum Zahn McClarnon recovering after at-home injury

Yesterday we reported at CarterMatt that Westworld season 2 shut down one of their production units after an injury. Now, we’re reporting just who that injured party was following an HBO statement. For the respect of the actor’s privacy, CarterMatt wanted to wait until the network confirmed the news before announcing anything on the subject.

View the statement related to Zahn McClarnon below:

“Actor Zahn McClarnon was hospitalized Wednesday night after sustaining an injury at home … He is on the mend and looking forward to getting back to work. Westworld will resume filming on both units next week.”

If you are a dedicated TV viewer there is a reasonably good chance that you are very familiar with McClarnon and his work already. He is best known perhaps for playing Officer Mathias on Netflix’s Longmirewhich premieres its final season later this month. Meanwhile, he recently had a notable part of Fargo season 2 as Hanzee and also had a major role in the first season on AMC’s The Son. Some of his other credits include such shows as Ringer, Frontier, and Bloodline. He’s one of the best character actors currently working, a man who can take on a wide array of different roles. It is no surprise to know that Westworld would want him for a part given how much they covet versatile actors who have experience tackling a wide array of dramatic roles. He fits the bill and is known as a guy who does great work regardless of the role.

Production on the second season of the HBO show first began earlier this year in preparation of a launch at some point in early 2019. Even though McClarnon’s injury occurred away from the show’s set it was a very classy move on the network’s part to shut down production on one of the units for a couple of days. It shows a real amount of respect for Zahn and the level of care that the entire cast and crew has for him.

Hopefully, the rest of production is able to go off without a hitch from now until when it ends, and that we get to see plenty of Zahn in action on the series itself.

For the time being, let’s send all of our best wishes to Zahn for a speedy recovery and that he is able to get back to work without a problem.
