Major Crimes season 6 episode 2: What’s next in ‘Sanctuary City: Part 2’

Major Crimes season 6 episode 2

Last Wednesday, TNT premiered the sixth and final season of Major Crimes with an explosive new crime to solve. As fans know the search for the missing boys is far from over as the mystery will continue this upcoming week and TNT has recently released the synopsis.

“While the search for the missing boys continues, the squad faces off with an untrustworthy priest, an angry ex-husband, and threats from the F.B.I. Rusty startles Flynn and Sharon with a surprising request.”

Well, Provenza will be happy to hear that the priest is indeed hiding something. As to why he is untrustworthy remains to be seen. However, we can guess it has something to do with their disappearance. He probably knows something about them or about the incident that he is keeping for himself for fear that he could make him a look like a suspect. We’ve seen this before on the show and many others where people involved knew details about the case. Unfortunately, they are too afraid of how it looks rather than help the police. Another alternative is he is involved more deeply than the police are aware. Maybe he really is a horrible priest. Either way, the priest is hiding something that we can guess will turn the case inside out.

Another aspect that could come out of the untrustworthy priest implications is Sharon’s feelings. As we mentioned before, this case already hits too close to home being as though all her children attended St. Joseph’s and she is a practicing Catholic. It’s not easy when your faith is being tested, let alone the community you go to in order to practice your religion. She’s torn between getting justice and having everything she believes in shaken. It’s a great internal challenge for her. We’ve seen her challenged by others, but never with herself and how she handles it will be nothing less than great.

The synopsis also mentions the ex-husband who is notorious for taking his son out of school or giving him a hundred here and a few hundred there. He has no idea his son was missing, but once he did, he was angry. However, the interesting part about him is that he is important enough to be mentioned in the synopsis, which lets us believe there’s more to him than an absent father. He could be hiding something or his reaction to his son being missing was fake and he’s somehow involved. Either way, the fans should keep an eye for him.

As for Rusty’s surprise request, that could be anything. It could have something to do with the wedding considering it says “Flynn and Sharon”, it is its for them. So going off of that, maybe he wants to bring a date, but the date isn’t Gus. Now as for who that person is, that could be a good mystery unless between now and the wedding episode Rusty meets someone. It’s unlikely but not impossible. It could also be a simple request dealing with a function he does or does not want at the wedding. For example, maybe he doesn’t want to be the ring-bearer because he’s afraid he will lose the rings. Or simple because he doesn’t want to disappoint Sharon if he messes up. Whatever the request is, we are excited to see what it is.

Major Crimes is on Wednesdays at 9 p.m on TNT.
