Major Crimes: What should be revealed before the show ends for good?
Buzz and Bill Jones’s family – If fans will recall during the episode arc “White Lies” Buzz arrested the man who killed his father and uncle, and while he was happy to have solved the crime, the fact that the killer was living a normal life bothered him. So after the arrest Buzz made some changes, like selling his car, to help support the family during Bill Jones’s incarceration. It made him happy to help support them, despite negative reactions from the team who suggested he not get involved. So during this final season, it would be great to see how this all turns out. Will the decision to help the Jones’s family come back to bite Buzz? Or is this all that will come of it until Bill Jones is released?
We certainly hope this storyline receives closure. It deserves it. While there was never a full episode dedicated to it, there were significant moments that were. In other words, moments that were not meant to be clues, but for the audience to see and remember. Whether the closure is Bill Jones forgiving Buzz for putting him in jail or it’s Buzz taking a step back and realizing there’s nothing more he can do, it’s worth taking a few more scenes to wrap it up.
Philip Stroh – Of course the on-going storyline of Philip Stroh should be resolved this season. It first started during The Closer and carried over into Major Crimes and after all these years, closure is long over due. Particularly because for awhile Major Crimes didn’t continue the storyline, which left many fans wondering if they way they ended things during the season 3 finale called “Special Master Part Two” was the end.
Regarding how it ends, we are pretty sure James Duff and company will give the storyline a heart-pounding episode this season, but we sincerely hope that by the hour’s end we have closure. That’s it. How the writers chose to do it, is their decision. When you are going into a final season that’s really all fans want. They want to know that stories they have been obsessed with will end with their characters in a state of happiness or peace and for this story that’s all we could want.
Relationships – The other thing fans want when going into a final season is for the relationships, whether it be romantic or friendships, to be patched up. For example, this would be great for Rusty and Gus as well as Rusty and his biological mother. These two relationships for Rusty are currently in a confusing state. With Gus, Rusty struggles to have someone that he loves and cares for leave, for fear that he will never come back. With his mother, the new baby makes him jealous because she won’t have to grow up how he did and that his mother is being more responsible this time around. During Season 6, we hope that Rusty finally confronts these emotions and expresses them to these people. It would end his story by finally bringing him full circle. We, of course, want a happy ending for him, but the character has also come such as long way with people, that bringing him full circle is the best closure the fans could ask for.
A new storyline that we hope will be patched up before the season’s end is the new Sharon Raydor story. We learned from Creator James Duff that Sharon is going to try and stop her wedding, in addition to being more emotionally challenged this season. We understand why Duff would want to throw her into a loop, because if this is the final season Mary McDonnell deserves to show what she can really do and to fully bring her full circle as well. We suspect the wedding situation will be brought on by the memories of her previous marriage and how things were a disaster. We also suspect that her job will influence everything now due to the fact she’s marrying someone she works closely with.
For every relationship in this show, there are reasons fans are obsessed. They make the fans cheer loudly on social media, and they warm our hearts with happiness. We can only hope that each one will end in a positive way that will give fans the satisfaction they want and deserve.
