This Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 5 promo may freak you out

Halloween is right around the corner, and on the other side of it is Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 5. Not only is this episode going to continue to honor the spirit of the holiday, but it will also take on traditional Hawaiian folklore in hopes to give you some quality nightmares in the process. There’s also a personal story for Lou Grover in this episode that will bring back some memories of his past. This is something we are especially excited to see since we love Chi McBride.

Basically, if you are looking for an episode that will deliver on many different fronts, look no further — the promo CarterMatt has for you below (via CBS) is just a small taste of what you’re going to see over the course of it.

So why try to take on so many different elements, whether it be horror or some personal backstory, within the same episode? A lot of that seems to be the show’s desire to try some different things. When you are in your eighth season the pressure to keep things fresh is a real struggle that many shows face. There’s more pressure to have an original case idea, to have a bigger action sequence, or to even have some moments of great comedy between the leads that are even better than the ones before. Hawaii Five-0 has had the extra added pressure of a major cast turn over, so this season is especially important for setting the tone going forward and showing viewers that this will be the same show they love, with some new ideas brought in.

Also, this is the Hawaii Five-0 Halloween episode and there’s extra pressure on these ones, since they have typically been fan favorites. Not every show does a Halloween episode, but Hawaii Five-o has always set the bar really high when it comes to them and we expect this year to be no different.
