Outlander season 3 episode 7 video: Short Sam Heughan – Caitriona Balfe scene
With Outlander season 3 episode 7 almost here on Starz, are you ready to see a new Sam Heughan – Caitriona Balfe scene?
This clip (which you can check out below) is fairly brief insofar as sneak peeks go, but we have a feeling that you will love every second of it provided that you watch the show for the romance. Let’s start here by offering up some context as to what’s going on. The series will need to address the cliffhanger from “A. Malcolm” in the early going of “Crème de Menthe,” and whatever happens as a result of that situation (which involved Claire and her mystery attacker) it will carry over to this scene. Claire will make a decision that could lead to some challenges for her husband, but he makes it clear that no matter what they have to face they will do it together. He’s overjoyed to have her there, and she is the light of his life, curing him of the almost-constant darkness he endured in the years she was gone. He sees the world differently with her by his side and isn’t that how love should be?
It is monologues like the one that Heughan delivers here that makes it all the more clear as to why Outlander is as popular as it is. It’s the rare show that is truly romantic and is not cynical in its approach to it. While there are many setbacks and conflicts, few of them are meant to jeopardize the love that Jamie and Claire have for each other. They are honest about their feelings and some of their struggles — the fact that Claire traveled back centuries to be with him again is testament to the love that they have.
As this episode progresses, be prepared to see Jamie and Claire take on many different conflicts, with several of them stemming from Jamie’s past and much of what he’s been through with her gone. In order for him to find some success for himself he’s had to engage in some secret operations; Apparently operating the print shop alone is not enough to pay the bills!
We don’t want to say too much more about this episode at risk of giving something important away; for now, let’s just say that the photos are not lying about seeing more of Young Ian and Fergus after John Bell and Cesar Domboy turned up for the first time on this past episode.

during
my first 2 viewings of 307, i found myself alternatively annoyed with
claire and with jamie. on my 4th viewing it hit me that this episode,
following the tenderness in the 306 reunion episode, was intended to
convey jamie and claire each trying to fit their basic selves – their
personalities after 20 years apart – into this new relationship of
theirs. imho, it succeeds, bringing to the fore the tensions that can
exist when any two individuals try to make a life together as a couple.
and that scary final comment by claire in the 308 promotional video, to
the effect that she doesn’t know whether they really belong together,
works for the same reason. many loving couples go through such doubts
as they work their way towards the commitment that marriage demands. so
– as far as i’m concerned ron and his crew have done a great job!

4th viewing ? .. wow .. that’s the commitment!! ?
Good analysis though.. I do agree with you on this.
I was just thinking that if they would miscast either Jamie or Claire.. the show could be such a disaster. The leading actors have tremendous chemistry and ultra talented.
