Gunpowder episode 3 (finale) preview: How will Kit Harington series end?

Gunpowder

Kit Harington is beloved for Game of Thronesbut over the past couple of weeks some in Britain have had a chance to see a different side of him courtesy of GunpowderIt’s an intense, action-packed thrill ride, and there have been many interesting and even controversial moments that have played out on the BBC show. When you’ve got a series inspired by Guy Fawkes, you really cannot be surprised that things are going to be a little crazy.

Gunpowder episode 3 is airing on the network come next Saturday at 9:10 p.m. local time, and there are a few different things to be excited about in terms of the drama reaching its zenith. After all, Fawkes and Catesby are getting very close to achieving their plot of smashing Parliament into pieces. They’ve got some of what they need in place — but there are a few things that are going to unfold that will cause part of the plan to crumble.

For more scoop on what’s coming up, take a look at the Gunpowder episode 3 synopsis CarterMatt has for you below — given that this show is based mostly on historical fact it’s really hard to proclaim that anything that you end up seeing here is a spoiler:

On the eve of the 5 November, Catesby (Kit Harington), Fawkes (Tom Cullen) and the plotters load the tunnels below Parliament with barrels of gunpowder.

Across the city, Father Garnet (Peter Mullan) is under pressure from an ally to break his seal of confession and reveal Catesby’s plot – for the good of the Catholic faith. Will the priest be the one to betray Catesby at the eleventh hour? Or will Cecil (Mark Gatiss) need to find other means to destroy Catesby, win back the King’s trust and save his life?

When the plot is discovered, Fawkes is unable to stave off capture and is hauled before the King – who, after forcing a confession, sentences him to be publicly executed. Catesby and the remaining plotters resolve to stand by their rebellion with one final, desperate battle against Wade and the King’s men. How will they fare? And what will become of Father Garnet, Anne (Liv Tyler) and Catesby’s young son?

Basically, expect an explosive conclusion (pun intended) to what’s been a very nice feather in the BBC’s cap. It also helps to ease the wait for the end of Game of Thrones in either late 2018 or early 2019 for all of you Kit Harington fans out there.
