NCIS: Los Angeles actress Bar Paly lands Legends of Tomorrow role

Bar Paly

Bar Paly has been a familiar recurring face as of late on NCIS: Los Angeles  and now, you’re going to have a chance to see her in a very different sort of role.

CarterMatt hast confirmation now that Paly (who plays Anna on the CBS crime series) is going to be stopping by the upcoming November 14 episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 3 in a role that many Greek history fans (or at least a viewer of the movie Troy) will know: Helen of Troy. The episode is playfully entitled “Helen Hunt,” and you can get a few more details as to what is coming up in the synopsis below:

A DIFFERENT KIND OF WAR – When the Legends track down an anachronism in 1930s Hollywood, they discover it’s none other than a time-displaced Helen of Troy and she’s just started a war between two film studios. As the Legends try to fix history and return Helen (guest star Bar Paly) to the Bronze Age, things get complicated when they are blindsided by the appearance of a former enemy. Sara (Caity Lotz) contemplates an offer she is made, which would make the Legends leave the anachronisms be. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) and Jax (Franz Drameh) find themselves in an unusual predicament. Dominic Purcell, Brandon Routh, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Tala Ashe also star. David Geddes directed the episode written by Keto Shimizu & Ubah Mohamed (#306). Original airdate 11/14/2017.

This is the second time this season that Legends of Tomorrow is diving into a character from ancient history — previously, it involved the Romans. In the premiere episode, we saw the show’s version of Julius Caesar placed into the present, which created a rather amusing storyline in which he tried to form an army out of toga party-goers on the beach. The show often finds a way to integrate historical figures in a way that is both reasonably authentic and comedic — having these anachronisms has really raised the game insofar as good comedy goes.

Paly has appeared in thirteen episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles to date as Anna, and we’ll see what else the future could hold for her there. She has also appeared on The Starter Wife, and Training Day. New episodes of Legends of Tomorrow air Tuesday nights at 9:00 p.m. on The CW, whereas NCIS: Los Angeles is on Sundays at CBS.
