Blindspot season 3 premiere: What happened in Berlin?
At the end of the episode, this is the new mystery that was raised courtesy of Roman. It’s pretty darn clear that there is some history between him and Weller that Weller doesn’t want getting out there — especially to Jane. Roman seems to be reveling in his new position as mustache-twirling villain/man pulling the strings. Effectively, he seems to be rather aware that he has Jane precisely where he wants her. She knew that she couldn’t turn away the FBI because it meant getting an opportunity to face off against him; they’re tied by blood and that makes the issues between them so much more complicated.
Meanwhile, there’s also the issue of the glowing tattoos, which are going to be a pretty major element of the new series. These are tied to new mysteries and are even more intricate than they were the first time around.
Also, who didn’t love getting a little Rich Dotcom on this episode? While we’d love to have the character around far more often thanw e’re getting him, we do still enjoy having him around every now and then to stir things up. Clearly, what we’ve learned is that Patterson is not a fan of having this guy around all of the time — to make matters all the more interesting, the two parties have a history. We don’t know what said history is, but it does make some sense when you consider their skill set and what they each bring to the table in terms of ability.
All in all, the premiere set a foundation for what’s coming — and it looks like it’s going to be a great third season of the show.

I really don’t know if I can enjoy all the secrets and changes in this season. What’s the point of bringing Jane & Weller together only to immediately split them apart … and then when they’re back together again, we see that each one is prepared to keep secrets and to go their own way, however noble (or not?) the motivation. And I really can’t stand Rich Dotcom. I hope they use him sparingly. I’ll give it another episode or two; but, although this has been one of my favorite shows, I don’t know if I’ll be sticking with it. Did they really have to reset each & every character, plus bring in new ones to have a pointless feud between the FBI & CIA? Sooooooo clicheè and hackneyed. Are the writers that devoid of imagination? Geez. This used to be a good show.
