Designated Survivor season 2 episode 6 preview: To save a ship
If you look below, the Designated Survivor season 2 episode 6 synopsis offers up a little more information as to what’s ahead:
When a U.S. Navy ship containing secret surveillance becomes stranded in enemy waters, President Kirkman must negotiate the crew and ship’s release. If captured, the technology on board would create a massive threat to national security. Meanwhile. Chief of Staff Emily Rhodes reconnects with someone from her childhood.
This episode feels like one of the bigger crises that we’ve seen Kirkman face simply because we’re talking about something with a number of different components to it. One of his challenges here was of course making sure that the ship was released and getting those crew members out of there alive — however, there was clearly another problem as he also had to figure out a way in which to ensure that his actions did not start any other sort of international crisis. Kirkman could really be dancing on a knife’s edge this week, hoping to resolve the matter peacefully. If that doesn’t happen, having to explain himself to his new government could prove incredibly challenging. All you have to do is remember here that upon getting into office, Kirkman had an immense challenge — trying to earn the trust of a wary American people who didn’t really know him all that well. If he doesn’t come through with this, he in turn runs the risk of not having their trust for a long time moving into the future.
