Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers episode 5 video: Immunity idol find

Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers episode 4

Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers episode 5 is airing on CBS on Wednesday night, and the preview makes a surprising reveal.

Warning: While all of the information below has been officially revealed by the network, it may still be a little spoilery for some out there. Read on at your own risk.

Basically, what this preview reveals is that Mike, on the former Hustlers beach, seems to be in possession of an immunity idol! That’s a big achievement for him, and it’s somewhat hilarious given all of the time Joe spent trying to convince everyone that he had it back on the Healers camp earlier this season. We also like it just because Mike is one of those people a la David Wright who you’d look at and assume that he wouldn’t be that great at the game; yet, he’s doing a lot right and now has more power than almost anyone. Joe used his idol, and with that there’s not a whole lot he can do in order to save his own hide. Mike’s now the man who can dictate the action on this tribe a little more, provided that he doesn’t blow it over there.

In general, the Healers are really dominating much of this game so far. They’re the only tribe with all of their original members remaining — heck, they’ve got six people left whereas the other two former tribes combined have eight. Mike technically didn’t even need the idol to be in a good spot right now, given that he, Jessica, and Cole are the majority if they all stick together.

What’s troubling Ben?

The second part of this preview is a little more personal and heartbreaking as you see Ben struggling with some nightmares, an aftereffect presumably of what he went through during his time in the military. This is a challenging situation for him, being forced to relive some of this pain while out playing a stressful game and being away from his family. He spoke pre-game about how this family was a grounding influence for him and allowed him to rebuild his life after going through so much.

While we hope that Ben will find a way to battle through whatever demons he’s struggling with out there it would be understandable in his instance if he chose to walk away — at least so much more than the majority of people who decided to stop playing for one reason or another.

This episode is coming on Wednesday and we’ll (of course) be back at CarterMatt with a review of it. To go along with that, there’ll be an exit interview Thursday with the latest castaway voted off! Did you miss our latest one with Alan Ball? If so, you can read that over here.
