Lucifer season 3 episode 5 preview: Tricia Helfer returns as Charlotte

There’s no longer a reason to wait for Tricia Helfer to back her big comeback; Charlotte Richards is appearing on Lucifer season 3 episode 5. The character was fantastic virtually every time that you saw her during season 2, but for much of that she was also somewhat different than she is now. Mom is no longer inhabiting that body; now, it’s pure Charlotte, all the time, and seeing how this character ends up becoming a part of this story should be rather interesting to watch unfold.

When a food chemist is found dead, Lucifer and Chloe’s investigation pits them against an unexpected face – criminal defense attorney Charlotte Richards. Everyone is caught off guard when they see her back in the precinct. As Lucifer tries to understand her return, he makes a shocking discovery that helps solve the case in the all-new “Welcome Back, Charlotte Richards” episode of LUCIFER airing Monday, Oct. 30 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Obviously for Lucifer seeing Charlotte back is going to be interesting — while he obviously knows that she is not his mother, we do simultaneously wonder if there is a part of him that will struggle with the news that this character seemingly inhabited his mother in the past. Will his muscle memory still cause him here and there to consider her his mother?

Beyond just this story, we feel like there’s going to be some other fun we get along the way here given that you are diving into a world in food chemistry that seemingly could lead to some hijinks — which is precisely what you want in any crime series like this. Beyond just that, you’ve also got a chance to have a little bit of Lucifer/Chloe interaction — as any CarterMatt reader likes knows at this point, this is one of the things that we do enjoy about this show the most! The more screen time for Lauren German and Tom Ellis together, the happier that we will be as a viewers as a whole.
