Madam Secretary season 4 episode 3 sneak peeks: A look at ‘The Essentials’

The first sneak peek – The first sneak peek has Henry and Elizabeth in a relaxing setting at home discussing a difficult topic. In last week’s episode, Dmitri revealed to Henry his drug-problem. In the sneak peek now for tomorrow night, Henry vents to Elizabeth about how he is going to handle it. Elizabeth mentions attempts to make Henry feel better by joking around about the situation.
Once again, the series gives us a sweet moment between the married couple even when they are discussing work. It’s also nice to see Elizabeth help Henry in a different way. Typically, she gives advice or offers to help him in some way, but this time she joked around. It was a refreshing sight. It allowed the audience to see her not as the Secretary of State but as a wife.

The second sneak peek – The second sneak peek was a nice moment between Nadine and Daisy. As most fans know, Daisy is pregnant with a dead spy’s son. In the scene, Daisy tells Nadine she wants to only take a few weeks after the baby is born because she wants to work. Work is important to her and she doesn’t want to stop just because she is a mom. In addition, Daisy knows the first few weeks are “magical” so she wants to be apart of that; she just doesn’t want to be looked at differently because of it. However, Nadine tells her that her experience during the first few weeks was different. It was challenging and stressful, but that Daisy will get through it and love the child so much. Daisy then reveals that her biggest fear is that she will lose herself because of the baby. Nadine tells Daisy that it’s perfectly normal.
The scene was a great scene because it revealed more of Daisy’s personal feelings, which is something that we don’t see often. Usually, it’s Elizabeth’s emotions we see and experience so it was great to see how another character is thinking.

The third sneak peek – The third sneak peek gets more done to the core of the show: Elizabeth’s job. In this week’s episode there’s a problem with a refugee camp in Lebanon that Elizabeth needs President Dalton’s help with. Elizabeth explains that they just need to “turn a light on or the whole place will blow up.” The President isn’t convinced on the issue, but Elizabeth tells him she just needs a few contractors. After some debate, Elizabeth doesn’t succeed and says she will find another way.
This sneak peek is interesting because she shows that Elizabeth doesn’t always get her way. Usually, she just needs to have some argument and the President agrees, but this time was different. This time Elizabeth needs to go about the situation from another angle, and one that she hasn’t figured out yet.

Either way this week’s episode is set to be an intriguing one and we can’t wait to watch it.
