Supernatural season 13 episode 3 preview: Clark Backo debuts as Patience
After all, this episode is going to give us an opportunity to offer up one of the first real looks at what the Wayward Sisters spin-off could look like whenever it comes to fruition on The CW — or at least the backdoor pilot later this season. The title character is introduced in this episode, and this is important for two different reasons. For one, you’re going to see her have a tie to season 1 character Missouri Mosley — a really cool thing if you’re a longtime fan of the show. (Also, Loretta Devine is awesome.) Beyond that, this episode will also bring to the table Jody Mills, a character who should be a huge part of the Wayward Sisters story, as well. This is a foundation, and the Supernatural season 13 episode 3 synopsis offers up a little more insight into what’s coming:
LORETTA DEVINE RETURNS AS MISSOURI MOSLEY – When her friend is murdered by a wraith (guest star Jon Cor) with a taste for psychics, Missouri (guest star Loretta Devine) enlists the help of Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Jody (guest star Kim Rhodes) to protect her granddaughter, Patience (guest star Clark Backo), who has no idea she shares her grandmother’s trait and could be next on the wraith’s hit list. Meanwhile, Sam (Jared Padalecki) continues to work with Jack (Alexander Calvert) on learning how to control his powers. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Robert Berens (#1303). Original airdate 10/26/2017.
Since this is not the full-fledged Wayward Sisters pilot, there will still be a good bit of story here that is indicative mostly of Supernatural season 13 and where the story is right now — nonetheless, a tease is still a tease.
In getting back to Patience, you may have come to know Clark Backo from her role on another genre series in the very-fun Wynonna Earp — a show that has a lot in common with Supernatural as it is. Meanwhile, she has also appeared in the past on Designated Survivor.
