The Flash season 4 episode 3 preview: Hazard gives the team bad luck

Are you excited to see The Flash season 4 episode 3 airing on The CW next week? If you like the character Hazard from the comics, you should be. It’s a unique villain with a power that is a little more abstract than most — rather than just physically stopping our heroes, she manipulates them. To be specific, she changes their luck. How this manifests itself in the episode entitled “Luck Be a Lady” should be very interesting — especially since she is able to turn their bad luck into her own good fortune.

Is this probably going to be a standard one-episode Flash villain? Probably, but we’re going to cross our fingers that if she is interesting enough, we will see more of her down the road. We do think the show needs more consistently strong female villains given that we don’t often get to see that many of them longer than an episode or two.

The Flash season 4 episode 3 synopsis – “Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team are hit by a string of bad luck and realize it is the handiwork of a new meta, Becky (guest star Sugar-Lyn Beard) nicknamed Hazard, who has the ability to give others bad luck, while cashing in the benefits for herself. Meanwhile, Harry Wells (Tom Cavanagh) returns to Earth-1 to give Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) a message from Jesse. Armen V. Kevorkian directed the episode written by Sam Chalsen & Judalina Neira (#403). Original airdate 10/24/2017.”

Does this sound interesting to anyone else? Beyond the villain we are very much curious to learn a thing or two more about the state of the Wally – Jesse relationship. We are absolutely concerned that she hasn’t turned up yet this season. Could that, plus the distance between worlds, prove problematic to the relationship? Why is Harry being forced to be the messenger? Not that we’re upset, given that we do love Tom Cavanagh and want him around the show as much as possible.

The promo below is mostly about Hazard, and by and large, this is all about one thing — celebrating a good time.
