Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers episode 4 video: Tribe swap lead-up
The sneak peek below is your extended look at where things were before the tribe swap came about, and Chrissy offers up what is a nice reflection of how many people are feeling going into this moment. It’s pretty easy to see things here from her point of view: Everyone was starting to get comfortable and was feeling pretty good about where they were in the game. Unfortunately, after that Jeff Probst tells everyone to drop their buffs. Nobody should be feeling altogether comfortable now.
If there is one clear winner of the tribe swap, it’s probably Lauren just because of the fact that she was on the bottom of the Hustlers tribe after Patrick was voted out. Meanwhile, if there is someone who probably loses it’s someone like Cole, who was starting to really carve out a dominant position on the Healers tribe and was contemplating getting Joe and his immunity idol out of the game. Now, he may have to start from scratch if Jessica and some of his other allies are not on his tribe anymore. This is a new lease on life for many of these players, and the good ones will figure out a way to persevere. There are people sometimes who are genuinely screwed over by tribe swaps, but by and large we feel like if you are smart and astute enough you are going to figure out a way to get out of any tough situation. Plus, there is at least one immunity idols till out there depending on the way the tribes are divided up and which camps are still a big part of the game.
One other part of this preview we find curious is just that, psychologically, it’s always super-interesting to see what players get a big reaction for being voted out when the tribes see each other for the first time after a Tribal Council. With Patrick, there seems to be some shock on the part of Alan and others — even though the guy bungled the last challenge to the point that they ended up losing. It’s just fascinating to see what some of these reactions are sometimes.
Ultimately, we’ll be very interested in learning what the new configurations are, and that may be much of what we spend our time here at CarterMatt discussing Wednesday night. Dividing them up by random chance is almost always super risky since you run the risk of a huge imbalance.
