Dancing with the Stars 25: Shania Tawin to guest judge
On tonight’s episode it was announced that for Movie Week in seven days’ time we’re going to have a chance to see the country icon on board alongside some of the typical judges. The pairings will be dancing to numbers inspired in some way by popular movies, and this should be a fairly fun night. We’re not sure that it can touch the sheer amount of fun that we are probably going to get watching Disney Week this time around, but we shall see. That’s the sort of challenge that the producers will have to take on — plus the show.
Musically, there is a big reason to get Twain on board the show — she is one of the most well-known country music singers of all time, and should be intimately familiar with many Dancing with the Stars fans who reside in the heartland. She will be performing a song off of her upcoming album, which just so happens to be her first album in the past decade and a half. There’s obviously some great incentive in getting her on board!
As for whether or not she is a master of interpreting ballroom dance we’re not sure, but remember that this is a show that has also included Pitbull as a guest judge in the past. They have also put on Abby Lee Miller, though that frustrates us for some entirely different reasons.
Twain has performed extensively in Las Vegas and other parts of the world over the years, and there have certainly been times in which she was courted for some other shows out there within the reality TV realm. She’s been rumored for Dancing with the Stars for years and we all but expected The Voice to try to get her in one of their famous swivel chairs at one point.
Even if this is for just one week and it is an obvious cross-promotional play, we’re still certainly very much excited to see her arrival in the ballroom in this role.
