Lucifer season 3 episode 5 spoilers: Tricia Helfer returns as Charlotte Richards
According to a new report from SpoilerTV the upcoming October 30 episode entitled “Welcome Back, Charlotte Richards” will be her first appearance of the season — which makes a great deal of sense just from the vantage point of what’s happening. The synopsis below also gives you a good sense as to why we’re going to see Charlotte back on the show:
“When a food chemist is found dead, Lucifer and Chloe’s investigation pits them against an unexpected face – criminal defense attorney Charlotte Richards. Everyone is caught off guard when they see her back in the precinct. As Lucifer tries to understand her return, he makes a shocking discovery that helps solve the case in the all-new “Welcome Back, Charlotte Richards” episode of LUCIFER airing Monday, Oct. 30 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.”
The fun in this episode comes via the fact that for much of the hiatus we’ve known that Tricia Helfer was going to be coming back on Lucifer in one form or another. However, there was a little bit less in the way of news regarding how it was going to happen. The one thing that was known was that she’d be Charlotte this time around as opposed to Mom, and this allowed for all sorts of interesting stuff since this is effectively a completely different character. She doesn’t share necessarily any traits at all with the woman she was for the better part of season 2.
As for the remainder of this episode, we’re mostly excited to see what the relationship between Lucifer and Charlotte is going to be like now. These are both smart, aggressive people, and their dynamic now could be made all the more awkward by the fact that every time Lucifer ends up seeing Charlotte he sees his mother; it could be a distraction, or it could cause some sort of chaos around the precinct.
Given that Helfer has been planning to return for a long time and she is even in the promotional photo above, the biggest thing that we can tell you as we start to wrap this article up is to be prepared to see a lot more of her moving into the future. It doesn’t seem as though there are any plans for her to fall of the radar on the show once she officially gets back on board.
