Law & Order: SVU season 19 episode 4 preview: 13 Reasons Why inspired
The title for this upcoming October 18 episode is “No Good Reason,” and we probably don’t have to spell it out too much that this episode is inspired by 13 Reasons Why. The Netflix show has created a lot of discussions on the subject of teen suicide and cyberbullying. It did create some of the conversations that we mentioned need to happen in the first paragraph, but it’s been off the air for a little while. This is a chance to revive them through a lens that is distinctly SVU — it’s not just going to be a carbon copy of that show, which is currently in the midst of a production shutdown over the devastating fires in California.
Below, you can see some more insight regarding what lies ahead in this episode.
SVU season 19 episode 4 synopsis – “A teenager (guest star Brighton Sharbino) disappears after schoolmates make her the subject of a vicious cyberbullying attack. Starring Mariska Hargitay (Lt. Olivia Benson), Kelli Giddish (Det. Amanda Rollins), Raul Esparza (ADA Rafael Barba) and Peter Scanavino (Det. Sonny Carisi). Also guest starring Madison Pettis (Stacy Vanhoven), Colton Ryan (Andrew Drake) and Steve Rosen (Counselor Guthrie).”
NBC is not giving you a whole lot of information about what lies ahead in this story, but you may be familiar with Sharbino already thanks to her world on The Walking Dead in the past. As for whether or not this episode features any big Benson story or something beyond the case, maybe that’s something that will be address in the promo later. For now, we’re basing this on the information we’ve got, which could be extremely tragic to the missing girl played by Sharbino.
