NCIS season 15 spoilers: Palmer asks for help; McGee’s radio mission
On October 31 (Halloween night!), there is a new episode coming onto CBS in “Trapped.” If you do want to see some additional news in terms of what is coming up there, allow the just-released synopsis below be your guide:
“Trapped” – After a petty officer is found murdered on a golf course, McGee spends hours on the victim’s ham radio trying to locate a key witness. Also, Palmer asks his co-workers to donate to a charity that builds playgrounds for kids of all abilities, and Torres surprises them with his generosity, on NCIS, Tuesday, Oct. 31 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
The idea of Palmer reaching out for donations is just a part of who he is as a character: He is someone who cares for other people greatly, so it shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise that he would want to give back. It also shouldn’t be a tremendous shock that Torres would want to do his part in order to contribute more. Even though it may have taken a good while for some of the other characters within the world of the show to get to know him, Torres had a big heart and this is just another expression of this.
As for the new McGee mission…
A big part of the appeal that we have over this story is simple: This is a way for the series to do something that is a little bit different and exciting from what they have done before to solve a case. When you have spent fifteen years on a single show, we imagine that a big part of the work in the writers room is at this point trying to find ways to execute and do stories that nobody has seen before. That is not the easiest thing in the world to do, but with that an episode like this does pay off and give us more opportunities to see everyone in action for a rather long time still.
So long as NCIS finds new ways to make its cases feel like something new, there is always going to be the incentive there to keep watching.

I would say Ducky taking ‘leave’, we hope thats all it is at this point, is an opportunity for Palmer to take over when David McCallum feels it is time to retire. Hopefully Ducky will be back before seasons end.
