NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 3 review: The story of Tammy & Eva

NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 3 review

NCIS: New Orleans season 4 episode 3 was an hour that brought many things to the table, but at the top of the list has to be shock and awe.

After all, there was most likely a point within Tuesday’s episode that you thought that Eva was dead in the midst of a violent shootout as she and Tammy went seemingly rogue to stop a case. However, this was just one of many twisted stories in what was as a whole a heck of a twisted episode. After all, the start of the episode revolved around Eva getting herself freed from prison in order to ensure that she could be of use. She was an asset, and her knowledge of her past did prove invaluable.

Did anything go according to plan? Not exactly, but this episode did prove to be a great testament to the relationship that is there with Tammy and Eva. They hadn’t seen each other in a while and there were many personal revelations to share, including that Tammy and Percy were now living together. Yet, in the end, the big revelation was that Eva was going to get a chance to start somewhere new as a result of her work in this case, albeit maybe with a different name. Will we see Cassidy Freeman on the show at some point in the future? We do hope so given that we love the Eva character and also love her work on Longmire. It’s also good to have someone in the show tied to the Tammy character given that she’s still an outsider to the rest of the team — to the point where her home is the entire basis of the nickname Pride gave her.

Before Eva did depart, she and Tammy did share a kiss — maybe that’s the end, and if it was, this was a heck of an entertaining thrill ride for these two characters that turned violent at times as you wondered a great deal when it comes to various allegiances.

What else took place this week?

There was a good little moment that you had a chance to see between Percy and Lasalle this week, though it doesn’t do a whole lot to resolve any of the issues that have went on there from the end of last season. This was a quieter episode, meanwhile, for Agent Pride, which is probably okay just because we spent a ton of time with him the last couple of weeks including the fantastic “#1 Fan” last week.

CarterMatt Verdict

If you love the Tammy Gregorio character you probably loved this episode — if not, maybe you didn’t. As a fan of the character and of Eva, this was a thoroughly entertaining hour that actually felt like it blew by far more than the average NCIS: New Orleans case.
