Once Upon a Time season 7 episode 2: Another Jennifer Morrison photo!

As you may know at this point, Once Upon a Time season 7 episode 2 marks the return of Jennifer Morrison to the show. After six years as Emma Swan she formally left at the end of this past season, which did leave a rather gaping hole for the show to try and fill. That’s not an easy task, but we do think that the premiere episode recently did the best job that it possibly could of bringing in some new characters while also keeping the soul of the original version of the show. It was exciting, but also ambitious and tried its best to create some interesting character dynamics.

Did it borrow a little too much from the original pilot? Maybe, but we understand why it would given that the first pilot for the show worked really well.

Above is one of the latest 7×02 photos for Once Upon a Time featuring Morrison, and what’s very much interesting about it is that this image confirms that Emma did spend time with Henry as an adult. We weren’t sure if Andrew J. West would have any screen time with her at all, but here it seems as though the two did have some sort of relationship. It doesn’t explain at all what happened that led to Hook being in Hyperion Heights separate from his wife, but it’s a star. This upcoming episode (entitled “A Pirate’s Life”) is tasked in part with the goal of trying to figure out a way in which to make more of this clear.

Below, you can get a few more details via ABC on the subject of what is coming up:

“When Henry finds himself in trouble, he calls upon his Storybrooke family for help, and together they set off on a mission to find Cinderella. Along the way, Hook is confronted by an unexpected foe who threatens the group’s success. In Hyperion Heights, Jacinda searches for a way to see Lucy with some unwelcome assistance from Henry, while Victoria Belfrey enlists the help of Gold and Weaver to push Henry out of the neighborhood.”

Basically what this synopsis does is set the flashbacks in a very specific timeline — this is after the events of the pilot with Emma and Hook, and presumably at this point these two have been together for quite some time and are happy. Will we get to see some other cameos here and there? It’s possible, but cameos aren’t anywhere near as fun if you know about them in advance! We don’t believe any other major cast members are coming in the near future, though; Emilie de Ravin will be back, but signs don’t point to that happening until a few more weeks’ time.
