Psych: The Movie premiere date confirmed by USA; John Cena returning
While at New York Comic-Con today it was officially confirmed that on December 7, you are finally going to get a chance to see Shawn, Gus, and some other familiar faces back in action! The movie’s going to have it all — comedy, action, silly nicknames, pineapples, cameos, and even a Gus love interest that may actually stick for the first time in forever. It’s a celebration of all things Psych, and the producers, clearly knowing how long the show was off the air, want to make this the greatest love letter to all of them that they possibly can.
There are also a few other things worth getting excited about when it comes to the movie that we haven’t even touched on yet in this article — Zachary Levi will be playing the Thin White Duke (the story’s main villain), and it was just confirmed today that John Cena will be returning to the show in the role of Juliet’s brother. Psych has always had a close relationship with the WWE, given that there are a wide array of wrestlers who have had an opportunity to come on board the show in a wide array of different roles over the years.
Now that we know the official premiere date for Psych: The Movie, the next priority feels pretty simple: Encourage about every single person you know to watch! This is a feature that needs as big of a spotlight as possible in order to ensure that there are some more movies that are able to come out down the road. After all, we’re going to need one that features Timothy Omundson in a lead role! He remains one of our favorite actors (he’s amazing in everything), and while he will make a brief appearance in some form during the movie he is currently recovering from a stroke suffered earlier this year. We continue to wish him all of the love in the world.
