Ready for more Longmire season 6 hype while waiting for premiere?

Longmire season 6

The Longmire season 6 wait continues for another week, but we still have a feeling it’s going to be worth it.

Last week, we wrote at CarterMatt a piece about the apparent reason for the delay — the show’s still in post-production. For one reason or another that process is taking longer than in the past, but we definitely don’t begrudge anyone behind the scenes for wanting to make the final season the best that it possibly can be.

For a little more evidence of the show still finalizing some of its material, just look at the message below from Barry Sloane, who is returning for the final season as Zachary. He’s still doing some ADR work — which, for those wondering, is when actors either record or re-record dialogue during the post-production process. Sometimes it’s for lines that aren’t clear enough on location, and other times it can be for lines said off-screen by a character. It’s basically all about getting the sound perfect. We know that Katee Sackhoff already did some ADR work weeks ago, and you can read a little bit more about that over here.

We’ve already made our love for Sloane’s character clear, given that Zachary is someone very different than anyone else in the Longmire world: He’s got very clear demons and he’s tried to take whatever methods he can to fight them. Unfortunately at the end of season 4 these methods weren’t enough to save his standing within Walt’s team, and we’re curious to see in what position in which he comes back during the final season. We’re also hoping to get some more scenes with him and Adam Bartley, as the Zachary – Ferg friendship was one of the best parts about season 4. (If you haven’t gotten the memo, season 4 is our favorite season.) Male friendship in general is something that many shows do struggle to present properly, but Longmire has done that both with this relationship and with Walt/Henry. They show a genuine push and pull rather than characters who lack some sort of greater emotional depth.

Other Longmire news of note

While not directly related to the show, you may need to check out our report here about the rise in Netflix subscription rates. No matter when Longmire premieres, this new rate will help make it clear just how much you’ll be paying to watch the show — or repeats of the show — starting later this month.
