‘Shiptober: When should Densi wedding happen on NCIS: Los Angeles season 9?
On the surface it would certainly appear so given the fact that Deeks and Kensi are now engaged. Not only that, but the process of Deeks’ mom finding out is now complete. He may not be out of the woods as of yet when it comes to Shay Mosley (who wants him back with the LAPD full-time), but we do think that he’s much closer to getting in her good graces than he was previously.
Now that these initial steps are out of the way, let’s turn now to the question of the wedding. We’ve already done a piece on whether or not it should happen this season; instead of that, let’s talk more about when it could happen provided that it happens in season 9. In this latest edition of our ongoing CarterMatt ‘Shiptober series, we want to look at some of the possibilities for the perfect date.
The 200th episode – This is later this fall and there is a pretty darn clear argument to make as to why this would be the right time for the wedding to happen. Given that this is an event, don’t you want to do your part in order to make that event something memorable? The only downside may be that it’s somewhat soon and there is so much more in the way of meaty material that you could throw out there for some of the writers to use.
February sweeps – Given that it’s Valentine’s Day, what better way to celebrate love than the Densi wedding? There are ways in which to do some rather cute stuff for these characters and we’re definitely excited to see what some of that would and could entail. We do also think that this is enough time for the show to come up with something great that doesn’t feel like you’re hurrying to get the wedding out there after such a long engagement.
May sweeps – Given that Daniela Ruah herself previously said that she wasn’t sure if the wedding would happen this season it would make sense for this to be the time if she hasn’t heard about it just yet. It’s a way to bring people back to the show even when they haven’t watched every single episode, and there’s something exciting about the prospect of ending the show with a big celebration of the past few years. The downside here? You’re going to have to wait a long time.
Is it possible that the writers could hold off to season 10 if they see that the ratings are meriting that? We definitely think so, given that it took so long to get to an engagement in the first place.
