Blindspot season 3 episode 1 spoilers: ‘Back to the Grind’ details!

Blindspot season 3

We wish we could say that Blindspot season 3 episode 1 is airing on NBC tonight; alas, you’re going to be waiting for a while longer. The premiere episode entitled “Back to the Grind” is coming on October 27, and whether it be a new exotic setting or some exciting action sequences there is a lot to look forward to.

Unfortunately, the network is really cagey when it comes to giving too much away for what’s coming. Other than confirming the time jump and a wide array of different guest stars (it’s nice to have Mary Stuart Masterson on here), the synopsis below doesn’t give away all that much:

“18 months after parting ways under mysterious circumstances, the FBI team is brought back together by a new crisis. Starring Sullivan Stapleton (Kurt Weller), Jaimie Alexander (Jane Doe), Rob Brown (Edgar Reade), Audrey Esparza (Tasha Zapata), Ashley Johnson (Patterson) and Luke Mitchell (Roman). Guest Starring Mary Stuart Masterson (Eleanor Hirst), Chad Donella (Jake Keaton), Jordan Johnson-Hinds (Stuart), Jeremy Crutchley (Leslie Doorhaus), Fabrizio Brienza (Thug), Trieste Kelly Dunn (Alison Knight), Teddy Canez (Boss Guard) and Gerardo Rodriguez (Customs Supervisor).”

Luckily, there are a few more things that we at CarterMatt have come to know about this episode beyond this synopsis over the past few weeks. For one, we’re going to have a chance to see a little more about the glowing-tattoo cliffhanger at the end of this past season and we’ll start to understand more in the way of the Jane/Weller relationship. Circumstances may have put the two of them in a bind, but the intention was never for there to be any sort of significant discord between the two. These characters have always had feelings towards one another and you probably should not exact to see a whole lot changing in that regard here.

As per the progression towards the larger story in this episode, a whole lot of that is going to depend heavily on just how long the show is planning to make you wait before giving you a few more of their reveals. For example, are we going to have a chance to understand more of where Roman’s at in this episode? Also, what about the supporting characters like Patterson and Zapata? One of the interesting things about a time jump is that over the course of such a span people can make some substantial changes; it’s not altogether fair to just assume that people will remain in the same exact place that they were in beforehand.
