Designated Survivor season 2 episode 3 preview: Tackling an outbreak

President Kirkman has went through many difficult things since getting that title; Designated Survivor season 2 episode 3 will continue that. This is a story entitled “Outbreak,” and just the mere stating of that alone is probably going to be enough to send a chill down your spine. There are few things that are more dangerous than the quick spread of disease, and it’s something that you will be seeing at the heart of this episode. How do you handle this before it ends up becoming The Walking Dead? Our heart certainly goes out to Kirkman as he does everything in his power to make America safe, but it’s not going to come easy. This isn’t a threat that has a name or one that can be communicated with. The only thing that you can hope to do in this case is try and contain it, and you have to hope he’ll be able to do that.

Designated Survivor season 2 episode 3 synopsis – “President Kirkman is faced with a viral pandemic that threatens to kill countless Americans while FBI Agent Hannah Wells and M16 Agent Damian Rennett discover evidence that could change the lives of members of the first family forever.”

So what could this big discovery be? That’s not something that is teased in the promo below. Instead, the bigger point of emphasis here is hyping up the outbreak to come while also reminding us that the show is now primed for one of the biggest resets that we’ve had so far creatively. Tonight, we did effectively close a chapter on a big part of the first season. With that, it makes sense for the show to push onward and try some new things. This is realistic for any network drama, and it’s also very much realistic for any Presidency. Just remember that the vast majority of time one thing does also tend to spiral into others, and even when it doesn’t there are always new problems that surface.

Kirkman’s going to do his best to rebuild America and get it on the right track; he just better be prepared for some people who are ready to tear it down.
