New Major Crimes season 6 promo offers insight into upcoming episodes

Despite the rough news that Season 6 will be Major Crimes‘ last, we have a new promo to make the pain more bearable.

From the beginning of the promo, the mood was intense and serious. We have established that the opening case for Season 6 will center around some missing boys, but now this new promo has given us a little more. We now know that the squad is eager to find them after we see the squad go after anyone who sits across from them in the interrogation room. It appears as though they are either demanding information or arresting the person for murder.

Now we know that this isn’t anything new for the Major Crimes squad, but something about it feels different. It’s like the team is pressing harder than ever before for information. The promo shows them either yelling at the suspect or person of interest demanding that they speak up, or they are implying that the person is lying or hiding information. It’s almost as if there is a narrow amount of time they have to find these boys and it appears as though the team is worried they won’t find them in time. Hence the reason they are pressing hard for information.

Another aspect that was highlighted in this new promo was the weapons. It seems as those guns are heavily involved. From the single person loading a hand-held gun to Lieutenant Tao opening a cabinet full of many different types of guns it appears as those guns will play a significant part. Are the boys involved in the business of buying and selling guns? While we would hope that they aren’t the guilty parties, we’ve seen crazier things on TV. Or, could have these boys seen or heard something they weren’t suppose to about the gun trade? Again anything is possible, especially on this show that has had cases that leave us in shock.

Speaking of shock, probably the most shocking element of the promo was the very end when fans saw Rusty firing a gun in a police target range. What’s so surprising about this is it seems so unlike Sharon to let Rusty be anywhere near a gun, let alone fire one. The only thing that could even make her consider changing her mind is an event that jeopardized Rusty’s life. She may let him practice shooting for self-defense but we will have to wait and see the real reason. Either way, it’s just one more reason we can’t wait for Season 6.

Major Crimes returns October 31 on TNT.
