Power season 5 spoilers: Brandon Victor Dixon returning as regular

Brandon Victor Dixon

If you love Terry Silver, this slice of Power season 5 news is going to be absolutely right up your alley.

According to a new report coming in right now via Deadline, Brandon Victor Dixon is going to be returning as a regular for the upcoming batch of episodes as Terry Silver, the attorney who ended up representing James St. Patrick a.k.a. Ghost (Omari Hardwick) after Joe Proctor (Jerry Ferrara) was unable to be alongside him at the end of his trial. Silver was a smart, resourceful attorney, but he also happened to become more than that for Tasha (Naturi Naughton). First he was a confidante for her, but over time their relationship started to turn romantic. Given that Jamie had a long history of infidelity with her (just look at everything that unfolded with Ghost and Angela), and after it was pretty clear that his love for her was not all-encompassing in the way that so many would want she forged a relationship with someone who admired and valued her.

Here’s the twist, and here is where things get interesting moving into the new batch of episodes. After Tasha found herself implicated in the murder of Ray Ray — a crime she did not commit, but rather one she was protected her son Tariq for — she went back to Terry for help. He told her that he would represent her, but in the event he did so the romantic relationship would be over. there was no middle of the road here when it came to the two parties being together; either the relationship was going to work out romantically or the arrangement would shift more towards a professional one.

Will this stick? This is one of the questions that we do have entering the new season Given that the passion that these two have is not going to go anywhere in the future; not only that, but to make matters even more dramatic they are going to be spending a good bit of time together. There is therefore a reason to think that they will be continuing to pursue something more than just a client / attorney relationship, though it’s ultimately a little too early to tell one way or another.

Dixon is not the only season 4 recurring player to be promoted entering the upcoming batch of episodes; after all, we’ve also learned already that we will be seeing more of Larenz Tate on the show next year as Councilman Tate, a man who already seems to have Ghost in quite a pickle not all that long after his release.
