‘Shiptober: Is Arrow season 6 when an Olicity wedding could happen?
If you do fashion yourself a big-time Olicity fan, odds are you’ve seen the phrase bandied about on social media. There’s a clear demand for a wedding with the Oliver and Felicity characters, and we figure that such a thing happening for Barry and Iris over on The Flash may only increase that demand tenfold. Olicity has been a major part of the show the past few years, and while Felicity has not even been confirmed as 100% alive yet for season 6, we do have a feeling that she makes it through the explosion at Liam Yu. If that happens, she and Oliver can continue building on the relationship that seemed to reignite near the end of season 5. Given that they were already previously engaged, we do think that there’s more credibility to having a wedding sooner rather than later than there would be for some other characters.
So are there cases both for and against said wedding happening beyond this? We think so, and with that, let’s get into the debate in this edition of our ongoing CarterMatt series.
The case for the Olicity wedding – The big one is that you care about these two characters and want to see them finally take the big jump to the next stage of their lives. Maybe you feel frustration over what happened over the course of the season 4 and see this as redemption; even if you’re not an Olicity fan, maybe you see this as the two parties having their love lives stabilized so that the show can focus on some things other than will-they-or-won’t-they romance. We think that settling this could be the best of both worlds in that sense.
We do personally think that, with this being season 6, this is the time in which Oliver and Felicity should understand each other enough to know that they’re better having an honest, open relationship with each other. Stop with the secrets and actually use each other as partners. If they can do that we can only imagine how effectively they’ll be as a duo. The wedding is a symbol of the commitment they’ll be making in order to have that happen.
The case against it – Maybe you ‘ship Oliver with someone else, or maybe you just feel like there shouldn’t be an abundance of weddings in the CW superhero universe this year. Given that we are getting the WestAllen wedding presumably during the upcoming crossover, there could be time to have an Olicity wedding happen down the road to where it is its own singular event and not overshadowed by anything else.
Also, Oliver may not be too concentrated on a wedding right now — his relationship with Felicity was pretty ambiguous in the finale, and to go along with that he may be focusing on being a father to William right now.

i am ok with Olicity as long as it does not create drama. When they are together , they work fine as a team . I like their dynamic and they have chemistry. That can’t be denied

We will probably agree with anything Deathstroke says — don’t wanna end up like Moira

As a loyal fan , i can say that the Olicity wedding is hat we are waiting for . After all, the break up in season 4 has a massive impact in viewership and fans showed their unhappiness very loudly. You can’t have a core relationship for 5 seasons and all of the sudden, let it go. Obviously , fans of the show like what they see. Otherwise , they would just drop the show. That was the case with season 5. Arrow’s full promo for that season was no Olicity and showrunners faced the consequences with their ratings dropping massively.
