This Is Us season 2 episode 3 preview: Randall and Beth’s big news

Are there some happy times coming on This Is Us season 2 episode 3? Some of the first details from “Highs and Lows” suggest so. In general we’d probably say that there is no better title that is indicative of this show that this, given that you do see these moments of great joy for the Pearson clan mixed with ones of tremendous heartbreak and sorrow. Often there isn’t all that much in the way of middle ground and you see them explore everything both good and bad that occurs in their lives.

Moving into this new episode, we do know per the attached synopsis that there are some good developments coming when it comes to Randall and Beth especially.

This Is Us season 2 episode 3 synopsis – “Kate visits Kevin on the set of his movie. Randall and Beth get exciting news. Rebecca tries to reconnect with Jack.”

NBC isn’t really in the business of giving away much information about the show these days, are they? Well, a big part of that has to deal with the fact that they’ve got arguably the most buzzworthy show on network TV at the moment and when you have that, there really is less of a reason than there would be otherwise to dish out material left and right on the show. They want to try and capitalize on the positive momentum that they have and keeping secrets until the last minute is a good way to do that.

In getting back to the story now for a moment, it feels as though this obviously wants to make you ask some big questions about Randall and Beth possibly getting good news on the adoption front. As for Rebecca and Jack there is a little more sadness in the air. Obviously it’d be great to get the two on the same page, but we do now have a little more of an understanding as to both how their love story ends and the way in which it’s going to happen. We do think that it’s best to get all of the mystery out of the way now; this show really should be about the characters rather than some constant questions on Jack’s death overtaking things.

About the promo

This does feature Randall and Beth’s attempts to bring in another person to care for; however, they soon realize not long after this that it’s a lot more difficult to handle than they first imagined.

Also, this episode is going to feature the much-hyped appearance from Sylvester Stallone. Typically we’d be critical of stunt casting, but when you consider Kevin’s role in the story it actually makes sense.
