Where was Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Where was Maksim Chmerkovskiy during Dancing with the Stars on Monday night’s performance show? It’s a hot question right now, and the answer depends on where you look on the internet.

One of the prevailing reports that is out there right now is that there are serious conflict issues when it comes to Maks and his celebrity partner Vanessa Lachey and that Maks may have skipped out on this most-recent performance because of the conflict. Speaking to People Magazine, here’s what one supposed insider had to say about their relationship:

“There’s a big chemistry issue. They both have big personalities and that’s not always the best recipe for a good partnership.”

Alan Bersten stepped in to perform with Vanessa on the show Monday night, with host Tom Bergeron citing “personal reasons” as for why Maks did not appear on the show. This isn’t the first time that he has had some conflict with a celebrity partner on the show, with him making repeated comments about a rocky relationship with soccer star Hope Solo during her time on the series. Meanwhile, he has also had many positive relationships with past partners.

No matter the reason for his exit (it’s possible that insider reports are wrong — they sometimes are) all signs point towards Maks and Vanessa getting back together for another routine next week. This is something that both parties confirmed in posts on social media, so for now we have to assume that if there were some problems that the two were facing they are for the most part resolved and they can move forward.

You have to hope that the two parties can figure this out given that Vanessa has the potential to be one of the favorites this season; she’s performing for the most part better than her husband Nick Lachey! The only thing that could hold her back now is potential judgment from people who don’t want to vote for the two of them because of preconceived notions that their partnership is not going well. Viewers don’t often love seeing conflict on the show, though to be fair there weren’t any overt signs of it when it was actually broadcast on ABC last night. (For one reason or another there wasn’t much of a rehearsal package shown at all.)

Are you still rooting for Maks and Vanessa after all of this?
