The Big Bang Theory season 11 episode 3 preview: Sheldon’s wedding date drama

Next week The Big Bang Theory season 11 episode 3 happens to kick off the discussion of Amy and Sheldon’s wedding date. Is it earlier than you expected the discussion happening? Maybe, but we certainly don’t blame the writers for wanting to get into the meat of this story right now. This is something that there is a great deal of dramatic potential around, with one of the primary reasons for that being that there are still questions aplenty surrounding just how Sheldon is ever going to decide on something like this. He is particular … and that is putting it mildly.

Side note: Don’t you expect Sheldon’s wedding date to conveniently fall at some point between now and the middle of May when season 11 goes off the air? That seems to be the most likely assumption to make here.

“The Relaxation Integration” (as though Sheldon knows how to actually relax) is the title for this upcoming episode; meanwhile, the synopsis below offers up a little more information on what’s coming up next.

The Big Bang Theory season 11 episode 3 synopsis – “As Sheldon stresses about picking a wedding date, Amy tries to convince him he has a more laid-back side. Also, Koothrappali and Stuart compete to win the heart of Bernadette’s new coworker, Ruchi (Swati Kapila), on Monday, Oct. 9 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.”

Are you hoping to see the gloves come off for Raj and Stuart? We’re pretty confident that we are, just as we’re also equally excited to see what happens in the event one of them actually wins Ruchi over. Is there a chance that there could be a fracture in this friendship? We hope nothing permanent, but even a comedy does need a little bit of drama here and there. (In all honesty, though, it also feels very much possible that whatever happens here will lead to Ruchi choosing not to be with either one of them — there is no sign in the synopsis that she actually has a history with either party.)

Given that Stuart is showing an interest here, does this mean that his date from the premiere didn’t work out as planned? We have to think so, mostly because we don’t envision him being the sort of guy who would play the field; he’s more the guy who will cling on for dear life in the event he finds someone with a genuine interest in being with him in some sort of romantic way.
