Designated Survivor season 2 episode 2 preview: The Patrick Lloyd search

Moving into Designated Survivor season 2 episode 2 airing on ABC in just one week’s time, will there be a greater sense of peace? There were many things that we had a chance to learn about through the premiere, whether it be Kirkman’s search for consistency in the White House, questions over loyalty, and also precisely how much a certain newcomer hates kombucha, really to the point where he will get it shipped away from the Greater Washington DC Area to suit his own benefits.

While Kirkman was forced to deal with some more tragedy at homw, Hannah Wells is off on an operation and is finally starting to get close to getting some of the answers that she so seeks in regards to Patrick Lloyd. This character is one of the larger loose ends from the first season of the show, and we’re rather pleased that the time for answers is almost finally at hand here.

Designated Survivor season 2 episode 2 synopsis – “FBI Agent Hannah Wells finally closes in on Patrick Lloyd, but when the president decides to take action during the White House Correspondents Dinner, members of the Homeland Security Council threaten to derail their plans.”

Perhaps one of the larger surprises here is the fact that the show is opting to give you a White House Correspondents Dinner. For many years this event was a huge tradition, though there is no question that the ceremony was a little less attention-grabby in real life this past year thanks to President Trump’s no-show. Is this storyline meant to be some sort of commentary on that? We can very easily foresee that being the case for the writers, but it could also be a reminder of the time that President Barack Obama managed to attend a White House Correspondents Dinner while also still grappling with the weight of the world in terms of the operation to take down Osama Bin Laden. This episode will probably be touching on quite a few different stories and themes at the same time as the writers continue to work on making it clear just what sort of leader that they want President Kirkman to be through the lens of this story.
