STAR episode 2 spoilers: Paris Jackson returns as Rachel

What lies ahead on STAR episode 2? Let’s just say that the return of Paris Jackson as Rachel Wells is the tip of the iceberg. It is going to be great to see her back on the show once more, and for one of many episodes at the same time. She is poised for more of a recurring role this time around.

Beyond that, we can tell you that the upcoming October 3 episode entitled “Insecure” (alas, no Issa Rae cameo) is going to continue the journey coming out of the Empire crossover. They’ve moved ahead when it comes to their career, but at the same time also are struggling with what happens when they become a part of the label. Everyone has their own vision for what the group could and should be, and you have to anticipate this being a major part of the narrative for both now and some time in the future.

STAR episode 2 synopsis – “The girls receive a rude awakening when the fierce new label head, Ayanna (Michael Michele), demands they re-brand their image in order to have a shot at competing with the label’s other talented artists. A disgruntled Star chooses to take matters into her own hands, causing tensions between her and Carlotta to escalate. Meanwhile, Alex, Simone and Cotton all struggle with adjusting to some major life changes.”

If there is one thing that Star, Carlotta, and all of the other characters should be prepared for at the moment, it is not being prepared. Just remember for a moment that the rise to stardom comes with many changes and hurdles; we do presume that eventually the group will become titans in the music industry on this show, but what happens on the other side of that? It’s not going to be as though there is suddenly this great deal of unity and peace. There will be almost more obstacles, given that with one false move everything in terms of the main characters’ careers could start to crumble.

As for the promo below for what’s coming next on STAR episode 2 — and the rest of the season — there’s going to be a debate about letting the label contract expire. Beyond that, there will also be some conversation when it comes to music videos, fighting for a place in the music business, and also family. It’s the arrival of a certain father that may end up causing the majority of the jaws out there to drop.
