Criminal Minds season 13 episode 2 spoilers: First look at ‘To a Better Place’

Want to know what’s coming on Criminal Minds season 13 episode 2? Well, you’re in the right place for it today! The second episode coming up is entitled “To a Better Place,” and this marks a great opportunity to see the show return more to its traditional form. After all, remember that the premiere episode is going to tie together some of the storylines from the season 12 finale, including seeing what transpired in the aftermath of the cliffhanger accident. This episode is also going to mark the first appearance from former Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders star Daniel Henney, who is now going to be a series regular.

So why focus only on the case of the week story here? Well, a bit part of it has to do with the simple fact that this is precisely what CBS often does with these episodes. They don’t promote them aggressively beyond what’s going on in the case, and often share few details regarding personal storylines. Granted, it’s not often as though Criminal Minds has extensive personal updates in their episodes in the first place. If you look beyond what transpired with Reid story arc from last season, often what happens the week before has no impact on what’s happening in the present. Remember that it’s very well possible that Criminal Minds season 13 episode 2 doesn’t reference the events of the premiere at all. It’s his own story, and it may be able to sell you on its concept alone.

As for the specific nature of this case, it sounds absolutely creepy and that is really what you want from this show. Often there are surprises as you dive into these storylines, but they often need to be kicked off with something crazy and dramatic. Basically, think of this sort of synopsis as a way to effectively get your foot in the door. Everything that unfolds from there is what will make you come back week in and week out. (We’re not sure how many viewers out there are starting to watch Criminal Minds for the first time in season 13, but you never know! We’d certainly love to see some more viewers pick up the show in its later timeslot.)
