Arrow season 6 spoilers: Stephen Amell on Oliver’s happy state

Stephen Amell

When Arrow season 6 premieres on The CW, you’re going to see a different sort of side of one Oliver Queen. After all, he will actually have a few moments where he seems a little less miserable or burdened by the world! Granted, he’s still going to have to get through the period in the aftermath of what happened with the island and the explosion, but beyond that there may be a few opportunities coming up to see a different side of the Star City Mayor. He’s a little less burdened by the past, and as a result of that, he may feel a little bit more at ease with what he’s been through and how he feels about his life.

This is a subject that Amell spoke about at a new iteration of the Heroes & Villains Fan Fest this weekend — for a little more insight on that, all you have to do is check out his quote below via TVLine:

“It’s a strange thing. Oliver actually this season is a very contented individual … At least so far. Methinks that will probably change, based on just 120 some episodes of history. But I’ve seen three episodes and he’s smiling a lot more….. It’s nice as an actor to not be a stick in the mud all the time.”

One thing that Amell also noted makes this season a little bit different is the opportunity for him to actually spend a little bit more time separate from filming scenes for the show. While in the past almost all of the flashbacks were based around Oliver, this season the show will be mixing things up in terms of giving you a wide array of different flashbacks over time. If you fancy yourself of seeing some other characters, including Slade Wilson, at various points of their lives, this season may actually be giving you an opportunity to see that very thing.

In the end, the main thing we will say in regards to season 6 is that we are very much excited to see what is going to be coming up with Adrian Chase gone and with Oliver more aware than ever before in terms of who he is.
