NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 premiere video: Deeks, Kensi, & a phone call

If you love Deeks and Kensi, we have a feeling that this new NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 premiere video is right up your alley! After all, this one offers up a good sense as to where these two are following their recent engagement, which is something that does still need to be taken care of and really should have been some time ago. CarterMatt knows there are a lot of Densi fans that want to see their relationship move forward this up coming season and while there are going to be some bumps in the road, we feel that the show ultimately wants some sort of happiness for these two.

The biggest question that has been on Densi fans minds is: Why didn’t Deeks tell his mother about his engagement to Kensi? All we can do for the time being is share the sneak peek below, one where Deeks (sporting a rather impressive beard, mind you!) makes it clear to his fiancee that he still has not clued in his mother about their engagement. Kensi presses him about it, and he assures her that he’s not just putting it off or that his mother doesn’t like her — he jokes that she probably prefers her of the two of them. From here, he tries to call her up on the beach, but when she doesn’t pick up he stalls on the voice mail. At least we know that he plans on telling his mom, but we mostly want to know why the delay?

All of this will likely have some sort of explanation, which we’re going to learn about over the course of the episode. For the time being, though, there’s probably not all that much to worry about when it comes to the two of them. It feels pretty clear that Kensi and Deeks are going to be just fine and this should just be a fun little side story in the premiere. After all, there are so many different things going on! For one, you’re going to be seeing the arrival of Nia Long as Shay Mosley, a new force to be reckoned with and someone who could fill the void at the NCIS office with Hetty missing in action. Beyond just her, there will also be a big storyline revolving around Sam as Callen and others look to bring him back to his old self. He’s off living at the beach, and has struggled ever since losing his life Michelle at the end of season 8.

Overall, expect a nice evolution of the show this season, but many of the things you love will still remain. This of course includes all things Kensi & Deeks.
