Ballers season 3 finale spoilers: Spencer’s last shot

Ballers season 3 finale

Going into the Ballers season 3 finale airing on HBO in just one week, there is one question that is really worth asking. Is it possible that Spencer can still strike gold with his NFL plan? For almost the entire season, the man has struggled in one form or another with trying to ensure that he can get everyone on board with his plan. He needed to find financiers in Las Vegas, get residents interested, and deal with about a million or so things that went wrong in the process.

Yet, going into next week’s finale “Yay Area,” we actually are at the end of the road as we know it — at least for now. Spencer and Joe are going to be doing what they can to map out the future for themselves, while we’re also going to see in the process some of the other characters do the same thing. Everyone is in the process of trying to get different things, but as we’ve seen time and time again with this show, nobody ever gets exactly what they want. This show does a nice job of demonstrating that even within the world of professional athletics, the majority of the time people do still have to work for it in order to get precisely everything that they want.

Take a look at the official synopsis below for a little bit more insight.

Ballers season 3 finale synopsis – “Spencer (Dwayne Johnson) and Joe (Rob Corddry) get a late-game assist in their efforts to win over team owners. After soul-searching, Ricky (John David Washington) maps out a new future. Jason (Troy Garity) gets Charles (Omar Benson Miller) another crack at a coveted job. Reggie (London Brown) makes an impact at training camp.”

Is it possible that there’s going to be a cliffhanger? Maybe in a broader sense where Spencer doesn’t know for sure if his plan is a success, but we don’t anticipate Ballers going some incredibly dramatic show. This is a fun summer show that’s designed mostly to give sports fans a little something different to enjoy during the off-season, and the last thing we imagine that they’ll do is create some drama for drama’s sake. Just enjoy the last episode and we’ll see some of what happens from there.
