Teen Wolf season 6: How eager was Colton Haynes to come back?
Speaking in a new Entertainment Weekly, Haynes was actually the one to reach out to show creator Jeff Davis after hearing that season 6 was the final season, and it was from there that the guest spot (which also features former star Charlie Carver) started to form:
“I thought it was just going to keep going until like season 15 … I had no idea it was ending and then it happened and I called [showrunner] Jeff [Davis] and I said, ‘You know I’m going to be a part of this right?’ Luckily a couple conflicts worked out so I was able to do it.”
Haynes is obviously very much aware at the moment of the vast impact that the show’s had on the entirety of his life. It helped him to become a household name, and since this time he’s appeared on American Horror Story, Arrow, and a whole lot more. For him to be so excited to come back is a reminder that actors rarely ever forget about some of the defining roles of the early parts of their career.
Also in this interview, Colton discussed more what the overall feeling was like getting back into the show after so much time away:
“It feels like we just picked up right where we left off … [The overall vibe proved to be] part high school reunion, part frat house. Something very sweet and then also, trouble. Celebratory, I should say.”
Haynes’ character of Jackson is now in a relationship with Carver’s Ethan, but there are some other interesting changes that you’re going to get a chance to see on the series, as well. This episode should allow for a chance to see Jackson all grown up, but also be a significant asset to the team at a time in which they all sorely needed. Just remember for a minute that many of the characters were trapped and surrounded by an onslaught of bullets at the end of this past episode. The more assistance they have, the better off they will be.
