Chicago PD season 5 teaser coming via Sunday Night Football broadcast
In a new post on Twitter (see below), NBC confirmed that there’s going to be a first look at the new batch of episodes airing during this weekend’s Sunday Night Football showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants. If there was ever a great venue in which to show off this teaser, you have to think that this is it! NFL games of course often receive enormous audiences, and as a result of that this is a fantastic venue in order for the show to get a lot of eyeballs on it. That’s probably all the more important when you think for a moment about where we are right now. Sophia Bush is gone from the show, Tracy Spiridakos is in, and Jon Seda is back. That’s a lot of change for one season, and we know that NBC may want to focus on some of that while reminding everyone of what the core of this show is in the first place: Working to see people get the job done, and helping others who sorely need this said help. It’s not a political show per se, but in this climate there are many causes that it may take on through the work of the police.
The Chicago PD season 5 premiere is going to give you a chance to understand more of the new dynamics of the team, but also what it means to be a police officer in 2017. This is a time when there is more of a microscope on cops than ever before, and some of the stories may be told through that lens. This is not a show that is probably going to restrain itself in terms of starting off big, so anticipate a whole lot of big reveals and important stories right away! Following that, we’ll see if there is time to stop in and offer up a few updates on some assorted characters here and there.
