Outlander season 3: Coverage schedule; Caitriona Balfe – Sam Heughan appearances

Can you believe that the Outlander season 3 premiere is just two days away? The press tour is starting to wind down, and with that, we’re getting closer to seeing more of the actual show. That’s what so many of us are waiting for. The premiere episode is coming up on Sunday, and regarding our coverage, here are a few different things that you can expect. CarterMatt is going to have something new for you every day, which is basically how it is here at the site during the off-season too. Here’s a break down of what we are planning for you:

Sunday – A full review of the episode immediately following it airing, accompanied by a preview/speculation piece regarding the next episode. The preview piece will be spoiler-free, provided that you’ve had a chance to see the first episode already.

Monday – Another analysis piece regarding the premiere episode. It may be about a notable scene, or a notable performance. There’s no specific publication timetable here, but they should be online by no later than 8:00 p.m. Eastern. (The same goes for all of our other midweek Outlander coverage.)

Tuesday – The latest live+same-day ratings — note that these do not often include streaming data or repeats, but we’re going to do our best to analyze them anyway. Talking about ratings is one of our favorite things to do here at the site!

Wednesday – New episode photos, provided that they are available. More speculation and teases for what could be coming.

Thursday/Friday – This is a free-for-all where we’ll look at possible season 4 stories, or what else is happening around the internet for all things Outlander.

Saturday – Sneak peek analysis, provided that a sneak peek is out there. We may also have another tease of sorts on Sunday.

As we get any sort of special features or are inspired to do something a little different, we may add to this schedule. Remember that Outlander could be featured in our Golden Globes coverage or in our yearly CarterMatt Awards in December, so there is lots still to come!

Other Sam Heughan – Caitriona Balfe appearances!

This morning, the two actors were rather busy! First, Sam and Cait made an appearance on Good Morning America to talk about the new season, filming in Scotland, and a few other topics. While there was nothing too in-depth here, this was a rather fun, lighthearted chat that should be enjoyable to many of you who are fans of the show.

Meanwhile, the second video that we have for you below is a little more in-depth and interactive, and that is a chat via the two actors via Facebook Live. Given that this was based on fan questions, it probably appeals more to diehard fans. There’s an event also currently happening in New York, so we hope that you’re already checking that out!
