Days of Our Lives bringing back Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Lisa Rinna
According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Rinna (who has appeared on the show for several different stints in the past) is going to reprise her role of Billie Reed on the long-running NBC soap early in 2018. She will actually start filming her part this coming week! This is great news for the Days of Our Live fandom since it’s another familiar face coming back to the show (provided that it’s someone you enjoyed watching) — given that we’re talking about episodes airing months down the road, it’s a little early to hand down specific story scoop. As most of you out there probably know if you watch soaps, things can change in the matter of just a few episodes pretty dramatically.
Rinna as of late has become more known in some circles for her work on reality TV. She is a former contestant on both Dancing with the Stars and The Celebrity Apprentice, and she has spent the past couple of seasons as a part of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. This is a show that has a number of big-time soap connections, given that one of its former cast members in Eileen Davidson has appeared on a number of occasions on Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless. Eileen even helped fellow castmate Erika Girardi make her own daytime-drama debut. (If you missed the news, Davidson announced her departure from the Real Housewives franchise, at least for now, earlier this year.)
We can only hope that the return of Rinna brings some drama to Days of Our Lives on the level that she often did her reality show — she was certainly known for being a firecracker over there, and mixing it up with Kyle Richards and many other regulars.
