VMAs 2017: Where to watch, live-stream red carpet for MTV awards show

VMAs 2017

The VMAs are coming onto MTV Sunday night, and for those for you wanting to live stream the red carpet, we’ve got the hookup!

Tonight, the red carpet preshow for the event is going to begin at around 6:00 p.m. Eastern time (3:00 p.m. Pacific), and you will get a chance to see some of the buildup for what is one of the biggest events of the entire year. There will be ridiculous fashion, just as there will also probably be some big political statements and well-wishes for the people in Texas. Hopefully, everyone in danger following Hurricane Harvey is going to be on the minds of some of the people turning up.

So, where can you watch the pre-show? The best place to go is over to the link here, where live coverage will be streaming live. For those of you who are in other countries, we implore you to check out your own local MTV. This is such a global event at this point that many other countries are also broadcasting it for their own viewers. Remember that when it comes to the VMA show itself, there are no official live streams out there for Americas unless you are using a Slingbox / some other device to stream from a TV or cable box. The majority of people out there advertising streams are pointing you to unauthorized links. View those at your own risk.

Tonight’s roster of performers is an impressive once, including the likes of DNCE, Rod Stewart, Julia Michaels, Alessia Cara, Lorde, Gucci Mane, Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, Thirsty Seconds to Mars, Fifth Harmony, Kendrick Lamar, and some other stars with possible surprises mixed in. Katy Perry (pictured above) is the show’s host this year, while Pink will be receiving the Vanguard Award — a great honor, and we also feel like she remains one of the most underrated performers in recent memory. She’s put out countless hits while never getting some of the recognition of other pop stars who are out there.

Are there some rumors out there?

Certainly, including talk of Taylor Swift and Perry reuniting for the first time in years in order to squash some of the “Bad Blood” beef that has plagued the two of them for a rather long time. Yet, the only thing confirmed for certain in regards to Taylor is that her new music video for “Look What You Made Me Do” is going to premiere — one that has already generated some controversy just because of the similarities that are there visually with Beyonce’s “Lemonade.”

The biggest surprises at the VMAs are, more often than not, the ones that you cannot accurately predict like Kanye West storming the stage or someone making a controversial remark. We know that for us, the thing that we’re the most curious to learn is whether or not the show suffers by airing against the Game of Thrones finale, which arguably now has more pop-culture clout than anything on MTV.
