Lethal Weapon season 2 spoilers: Singer JoJo to guest star

For a few years JoJo was known as one of the most-popular teen pop stars out there. Now, she’s bringing some music to Lethal Weapon.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the singer (otherwise known as Joanna Levesque) is going to be appearing on an upcoming episode in the role of Shaye. She just so happens to be a famous singer who finds herself in a near-death situation when a “figure from her past drives her car off the road.” This is obviously the sort of situation that would leave someone spooked … so Riggs and Murtaugh to the rescue! These two guys are going to become her bodyguards, and over this story you are going to see these two parties doing everything that they can in order to keep her safe.

There are a couple of funny things that could come out of this situation. While what happened to JoJo’s character is serious stuff, Riggs and Murtaugh could still find a way to get into some hijinks as a result of their new job. Neither one of them is used to being around someone of Shaye’s level of fame, so odds are she acts differently than most other people that they know.

In some ways, this entire story sounds like the bread and butter for what makes Lethal Weapon entertaining — you get the main characters into odd situations and find a way to get them out of it. Often, it’s with a ton of action and some crazy twists and turns along the way. It’s a show that gives you humor, but also a little bit of classic police drama. On paper, all of this sounds like it’ll make for an entertaining episode when it airs.

In addition to being a singer, JoJo has appeared in such movies as Aquamarine and RV. As for TV, she has guest-starred in the past on Hawaii Five-0 and also The Bernie Mac Show. She also is still very much involved in the music world.
