Crime Dynamic Duos: Longmire (Walt / Vic) vs. Hawaii Five-0 (Steve / Danny)

The final four round of our Crime Dynamic Duos series is short and sweet, and for good reason: There aren’t a whole lot of contenders left to spotlight! We saw some intense showdowns to get the remaining duos to this point, and today, we imagine that we’re going to see another one. We’ve got Walt / Vic from Longmire squaring off against Steve / Danny, otherwise known as McDanno, from Hawaii Five-0. Both have withstood some close votes to get to this point, and one of them is going to have a chance now of making it to the finale.

Who will that be? That’s really up to you! Soon, we’re going to be spotlighting the contenders, and then after that you can vote to your heart’s content in the poll at the bottom of the article.

One thing we do want to make clear for the final four is that voting will close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday, August 27. If you vote after that point, your vote will not count. Voting for the final round will start on August 28, so we’re going to be very specific with that. We’ll be removing the poll at the end of the voting window; if you don’t see it on desktop or mobile, that’s why.

The contenders

Walt and Vic, Longmire – These two withstood one of the closest votes in site history against Benson / Barba of Law & Order: SVU, with just a handful of single votes separating them at the end of the voting window. (There was a surge in Walt / Vic votes after the window closed.) They were a #1 seed entering the tournament for a reason — we know how passionate the Longmire Posse is, and how much they’ve supported this show. Without them, there wouldn’t be a season 6 premiering later this year.

This is a season that should offer up some closure to longtime fans looking for that. Hopefully, you’ll get that for Walt and Vic to go along with all of the other characters and relationships. These two work together great at solving various crimes, but can they actually be more than that? Time will tell.

Steve and Danny, Hawaii Five-0 – These two actually had a pretty commanding lead at the end of their voting window. There was a surge in Kensi / Deeks votes after the fact, but McDanno had another successful run through the tournament after winning most of their showdowns this year in pretty decisive fashion.

Having these two guys still in the running is a great gift while you await for season 8 this fall, which could be a very different season for the two of them. There are new faces in Hawaii, and along with that these guys may be thinking about their future and their mortality in a way that they really haven’t for most of the season. They’re going to need to rely on each other … and probably bicker at the same time. That’s pretty indicative of the relationship the two partners and friends have at this point.
