Check out an extended This Is Us season 2 sneak peek
If this any indication of what is to come during Season 2, then make sure you have a box of tissues within reach because this sneak peek brought back all the feels that Season 1 did. In the extended sneak peek, fans see Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) talking about adoption. During the Season 1 finale Randall announced to his wife, Beth, that he wanted to adopt a child; as revealed in the sneak peek, Beth isn’t on board.
So Randall asks his mother, Rebecca, about how she knew that she wanted to adopt him. After Randall calls her bluff about it being an easy decision, Moore delivers a touching monologue that may make you want to cry. She tells Randall that marriage isn’t easy and that sometimes one person in a marriage needs to be the one to push to make the big moves and that she will always be grateful for that. She also tells him that the little baby she wasn’t sure about became her life while making it clear that her marriage wasn’t perfect and neither was Jack (Milo Ventimiglia). However, he came pretty close.
Overall, Rebecca encourages Randall to be the one to push for those big moves, and in a way, implying that the one who pushes is a pretty special person.
The sneak peek also indicates that we could see more moments like this between Randall and Rebecca and we are happy to see them. If fans will recall, Randall and Rebecca hit a rough patch after Randall discovered that his mother has known who his biological father was his whole life. He didn’t take this very well and for some time refused to speak to his mother. However, the sneak peek indicates that they have put that behind them and have instead decided to return to their close relationship.
The upcoming Season 2 is highly anticipated with many exciting stories set to be told this season. Kate (Chrissy Metz) has decided to pursue a singer career, Kevin’s (Justin Hartley) acting career is reaching a high point while his relationship with Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge) could be in trouble, and more details regarding Jack’s death will be revealed. Overall, this season is going to be a great one.
