MacGyver season 2 spoilers: When will we meet Mac’s dad?
How much so? Well, one of the biggest things that we can say at the moment is that there are some plans in place to incorporate the character through the entirety of the season, beginning with the early batch of episodes and then carrying right through to the finale. According to what executive producer Peter Lenkov told TV Guide, there are plans to make a big reveal by the time the season is done:
“One of the big Season 2 arcs is the search for Mac’s father, a journey that will come to an end in the season finale when we will finally reveal who and where he’s been.”
Who is his dad? Well, the show is probably well prepared for people to speculate/assume that he will be played by original series star Richard Dean Anderson, given that this would be the most exciting reveal plus a great gift to everyone who’s loved the show and the character over the years. There are no guarantees, but this is the casting that we are personally hoping to see.
Beyond Mac’s dad, we anticipate that the second season of the show will feature a few different things: Undercover missions, crazy stunts, Bozer getting more accustomed to the world of the Phoenix Foundation, and then also the return of Murdoc at some point before the end of the road. you don’t release that character, who is without question one of the most evil dudes within the entire show universe, unless you do have some plans to incorporate him to cause a little more chaos. Our hope is also that there could be some more new versions of classic show villains thrown out there. We know that MacGyver wasn’t necessarily a show the first go-around with an enormous cast, and that is why it’s interesting that they have such a rich history and so many different adversaries that they could pull from — even if many of them only popped up briefly in the original show.
MacGyver season 2 is going to premiere on CBS this fall, where once more it will be a part of an epic Friday lineup with Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods. Even though there are some things that have changed when it comes to the nature of the schedule on the night elsewhere, there are a few others that we anticipate staying the same. One of the biggest ones is CBS continuing to dominate given that they have three very popular series that all have their own devoted following waiting to watch and see what’s next.
