Supernatural season 13 spoilers: The 100 actress poised to guest-star

Supernatural season 13

For those of you looking for the latest Supernatural season 13 spoilers, hopefully this latest casting news will suffice.

In a post on Twitter, talent agency LLA Talent confirmed that Chelsey Reist will be appearing on at least one episode of the long-running CW series. There are no details on her role currently available, but the move makes sense when you think about her history with the network and also her filming location for her other gig in The 100. Reist has appeared in more than 30 episodes of that show in the role of Harper, but in a recurring capacity. This enables her time to find work on other shows.

Supernatural is no stranger to working with actors who have appeared on other CW shows, given that they have featured Elizabeth Blackmore of The Vampire Diaries for an arc as Lady Toni of the British Men of Letters. Katie Cassidy, meanwhile, is now a series regular over on Arrow, and we’ve also seen Lauren Cohan of Vampire Diaries / The Walking Dead stop by for an arc. It makes sense for The CW to use similar talent across many of their shows, given that it offers their viewers a chance to see a familiar face that they already know and love. For more examples of this, look at how Stephen Amell of Arrow was a part of The Vampire Diaries before this gig, or how Grant Gustin appeared on 90210 prior to being the lead on The Flash.

New episodes of Supernatural are premiering this fall, and by and large we’d say that the folks on the show are keeping the story more under wraps than usual. That does make some sense when you consider the way that the last season ended. Castiel’s fate was left hanging in the balance — while it appeared as though he died, the producers have said already that there are still plans for Misha Collins to return to the show in some shape or form. We imagine that Lucifer’s child will have a significant impact thanks to a series-regular promotion that happened recently, and beyond that, there is the Wayward Sisters spin-off pilot to look forward to. It’s still not entirely clear if this is something that will work, but we are interested in seeing what it looks like when it eventually comes on the air.

Oh, and don’t think of season 13 as the final one for the show just yet. After all, it was already announced at TCA that the show will continue to last for however long Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles want for it to — provided that the ratings are still strong.
